The Greek Port of Yali Island is located halfway between Kos and Nisyros Islands in the Dodecanese area. At Yali Island, Lava Mining & Quarrying Co. (a member of the company LAFARGE) runs one of the biggest pumice stone extraction quarries worldwide. The vessels are moored alongside a cement pillar and made fastened on floating mooring buoys. One shiploader with rotating boom conveyor is used for the loading operations.
